East Para Primary School

International  / Homestay Students

East Para Primary School is located 14 kilometres from the Adelaide GPO in Para Hills, on the boundary of the suburb of Modbury. Gum trees are a feature in the yard and provide a haven for many birds that frequent the grounds. In the last 12 months we have begun a program to further beautify our grounds using native plants.

School buildings, while over 30 years old are old are brightly painted inside and the school is working towards brightening the exterior brick walls with a number of murals, which will reflect both local history and the international exchange program.

Another feature of our grounds are four brightly coloured playgrounds that are used in both play times and, by design around upper/lower body strength within the daily Physical Activity Program.

Year 7 children from our school graduate into five local public high schools which offer a range of specialised programs that meet the needs of all our Year 7 graduates.

As a Discovery School and within the Learning to Learn Program we have hosted many teachers locally, nationally and internationally since 1999. We have found these experiences to be rewarding/challenging for us as learners as we have shared the strengths and successes of a range of schools and districts.

In 2008 we linked with Keithcott Farm Primary School to join the International Program and we are registered to conduct Study Tours and host overseas teachers.

We actively engage families in our International Homestay Program and received our accreditation for the Homestay in March 2008.
